Inspire for Sleep Apnea
Sleep Apnea and Snoring Can Cause Long Term Problems
Almost 50% of Americans snore at least occasionally, and 25% snore regularly. Problems with snoring occur more often in males and typically get worse with age. Snoring and sleep apnea can also cause health and relationship issues. The good news is that at Dallas ENT, we offer several sleep apnea and snoring treatments.
If you hate your CPAP machine, Inspire is a less invasive treatment that may work for you.
How does Inspire Work?
Inspire is an FDA-approved obstructive sleep apnea treatment that treats the cause of your sleep apnea. Inspire is a small device that monitors your sleep and sends a gentle pulse to keep your tongue out of the way. It is implanted in the body with three small incisions during an outpatient procedure. Once the device is in, you will work with your doctor to fine-tune the device so that you can finally breathe and sleep soundly.
Will Inspire work for me?
If you are tired of your CPAP or find it too cumbersome, you may want to find out more about Inspire. There are three steps to qualify for Inspire:
- You must have a moderate to severe sleep apnea diagnosis and don’t like your CPAP machine.
- You need to be examined by a doctor to ensure you are a good fit and not too overweight.
- Lastly, you will need to undergo a short airway examination.
Once you have qualified, you will set up a date to get your Inspire device.
How much does Inspire cost with insurance?
If you are worried about the cost, you will be glad to know that most insurance plans cover Inspire. Inspire even has a team that will help you and your doctors through the insurance process. Insurances that cover Inspire include:
- Private insurance
